Making your own cosplay

  1. The prompt box opens with cosplay, cinematic light, ultra detailed, 18+ in it. Rewrite as much of that line as you like - the wording is a starting point, not a form.
  2. Decide between a still and a clip. Stills come back in seconds; a clip takes about a minute and runs a few seconds, which is the length the motion model was trained on.
  3. Attach a reference frame if the face or the body has to be a particular one. Leave it empty and both get invented.
  4. Keep the result private or put it in the gallery - neither costs extra.

Name the parts, not the character

A character name gets you an average of every version of that character the model has absorbed, which is usually a muddle: right colour, wrong silhouette, invented accessories. The reliable route is to list the garments as garments. red pleated skirt, white gloves, thigh-high boots is a build order the render can follow, and it survives being combined with a pose. Names are still worth putting at the end as a flavour hint, but they cannot carry a frame alone, and anything they contradict in your part list will fight it.

Emblems and lettering turn to noise

Any small marking on cloth degrades: a chest emblem becomes a scribble, a shoulder patch becomes a smear, lettering becomes letter-shaped marks that spell nothing. The cause is size, and the two ways out are size and omission. Either make the marking large and geometrically simple - one shape, two colours, across the whole chest - or leave it out of the prompt and let the fabric be plain. There is no third option, and asking harder for a legible logo produces a more confident piece of nonsense.

Wig fibre behaves unlike grown hair

Wig fibre is flatter in colour, holds a cut line more sharply, and does not thin toward the scalp. Renders default to natural hair with root variation, which quietly makes a bright colour look dyed rather than worn. If you want the wig read, ask for it: flat colour wig, blunt fringe. That also settles the part line, which is the giveaway detail - grown hair shows scalp along the parting, a wig shows a seam or nothing at all.

A held prop costs you a hand

Give the figure something to hold and you have added a second hard problem next to the first. What comes back is a grip closed around empty air, a handle passing through the palm, or fingers fused into a mitt around the shaft of the object. Compare this with a plain costume request, which has no prop and no character to match and is correspondingly easier: there the only structural risk is the outfit itself. If a prop is essential, keep it thick, keep it vertical, and put the hand and the object in one clause: staff held in the right hand, fingers wrapped around it. Thin props and small props are lost causes.

FAQ

Is it better to name a character or to list the garments?

List the garments. A name averages every depiction the model has seen and returns a compromise; a part list is instructions it can follow in order. Add the name afterwards as a hint, not as the main description.

How many cosplay scenes are on this page?

63 right now. The page is rebuilt from the live gallery, so the number moves as people publish.

Why does the chest emblem come out as scribble?

It is too small to resolve. Markings need to be large and simple before the render treats them as shapes rather than texture. Either scale the emblem across the whole chest or drop it and accept plain fabric.

How many accessories can one outfit carry?

Roughly one, sometimes two if both are large. Each extra item takes fidelity from the rest, and the damage lands on whatever sits latest in the prompt, which is usually the accessory you cared about most.
