A cookie is a small record that a website stores in your browser and receives back the next time you open a page. It lets the site recognise that a request came from the same browser as before, so it does not have to ask you the same thing twice.
Browser local storage works on a similar principle, but its entries are not attached to every request automatically: they are read only by the code of a page opened on our domain. That is why it holds items the interface alone needs.
Below is everything Swaplse (the swaplse.com website) keeps in your browser, why it is needed and how long it lasts. How this fits into the rest of our data processing is described in the Privacy Policy.
Without records in the browser the service cannot tell one session from another. Being signed in would not hold: every page would treat you as a guest, which puts your collection, your coin balance, the AI character chat and the creation page out of reach.
The remaining entries handle smaller tasks: they remember the interface language you picked, carry a referral code from the click to the sign up, keep the state of the side menu and hold your recent search history. We use no records that follow you across other websites.
These files make the basic site work and are set without separate consent, because the service you asked for cannot be delivered without them.
These files contain none of your works, prompts or conversations.
Search history never leaves your browser: swap_recent_q is stored on your device only and is read only there. We receive no copy of it and do not tie it to your account. Clearing site data in the browser removes both entries; this does not affect access to your account.
Anonymised visit statistics are collected with the Google Analytics web analytics service. It reports aggregate figures: how many visits there were, which pages people enter and leave from, which browser and language they use. This tells us about load and about which parts of the site are actually used.
We do not send your works, prompts, conversations or email address to analytics. We use the reports in aggregate form and do not try to identify an individual visitor from them. Analytics cookies are not strictly necessary: declining them does not prevent you from using the service.
Uploaded material, generated results and prompts are never used for advertising. The full rules for that category of data are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Cookies are managed in your browser settings: there you can view and delete stored entries and block new ones for a single site or for all sites. Private browsing mode solves the same problem differently: entries are created but discarded when the window is closed. The exact steps depend on the browser and are described in its own help pages.
What stops working if you block them: signing in (without fs_sess the session is not kept and you will be returned to the login page) and remembering your language (without swaplse_lang you will have to switch language again every time you open the site). Without sw_ref a referral link will not be credited. Declining analytics cookies alone has no effect on how the service works.
The list of cookies may change if the set of site features changes. The current version is always published on this page, and the date of the last update is shown at the top of the document.
If a new category of records or a new recipient of data appears, we will update this document before such a record starts being set. Continuing to use the site after a change takes effect means you have read the new version. Questions about this document can be sent to support@swaplse.com.
